John Jay: Born and raised in Virginia, taught to love God and respect my elders, I learned young that sharing chocolate puts a discordant world in order. Family history, connections, knowing where your people came from and how you are related to everybody else in the county was what made us proper. Still, which way you rode your saddle could be a source of sideways glances. But, if you were a good boy nonetheless and tried your hardest, your heart got blessed without end. I miss the buckets of good things about the South, but a desire for exploration triumphed over settling there. Finding my freedom around the globe while carrying treasured memories of home was my ticket to survival, yet from far across the sea, I'm beginning to feel a yearning to go back to where I started, to complete what I was searching for all along.
